Banana tahini & chocolate shake

LEVEL: Beginners

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 2

1 banana, roughly chopped
50ml plain yoghurt
150ml milk
1 tbsp tahini
1 tbsp brown sugar
about 3 large scoops of vanilla ice cream
good pinch of ground cinnamon
15g dark chocolate (minimum 70 per cent cocoa solids)

METHOD

Thick, rich, creamy and cooling – with chocolate as well – for me this is the ultimate comfort milkshake. The tahini and brown sugar give it a flavour reminiscent of good halva, and the grated chocolate takes it perfectly over the top. Just what a great milkshake should be.

Put the banana into a food processor with the yoghurt, milk, tahini, sugar, a large scoop of vanilla ice cream and cinnamon.

Whizz to blend everything together.

Divide between two glasses, then add another scoop of ice cream to each one. Grate the dark chocolate over the top and serve.

MY SECRET

Add dark chocolate ice-cream in place of vanilla if you like, and if you want it to have some Brandy Alexander magic add a shot of espresso and a jigger of brandy.
